IMPORTANT PAPER ON ECONOMICS OF CLIMATE CHANGE BY PROFESSOR RICHARD S J TOL

Posted 30 November 2015

"Statements that climate change is the biggest (environmental) problem of humankind are unfounded: We can readily think of bigger problems. For example, the people of Greece lost a third of their income in five years' time, arguably because monetary policy was unfit for purpose. The people of Syria lost more in a shorter time. Considering all 27 estimates, it is suggested that initial warming is positive on net, while further warming would lead to net damages." An important paper on the economics of climate change by Richard S J Tol, Professor of Economics at University of Sussex. He is also Professor of The Economics of Climayte Change atv the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
