About the Climate Change Bloggers

Hello and welcome again to our humble little blog, dear readers. We thought that since you take time of your day to read our blog posts, the least we can do is introduce ourselves to you. This is why we decided to dedicate this portion of the blog to telling you a little bit more about us and the blog’s mission as well.

Enjoy reading!

How It All Started

The people behind this blog, aka us, met at university and we soon developed quite the bond. It’s been years since we graduated and we still find the time to contact each other and meet as much as our busy schedules allow.

Let us start by saying that none of us had been particularly active in the climate change movement until very recently. We didn’t think much of it and we were honestly not convinced that climate change was real. Yeah, we know that sounds bad, but we believe it’s never too late to learn and make better choices.

One of the catalysts of our “conversion” was the growing temperatures in New Zealand, where we are from. I guess it’s true when people say that you have to see it with your eyes to believe it. We could no longer ignore the rising temperatures in our native country and around the world, so we decided to act.

We began informing ourselves and started reading about the history of climate change science and the greenhouse effect to better understand what was happening right now. After our long educational process, we firmly believe that the unprecedented heatwaves, rising sea levels, and melting glaciers are man-made; we now reap what we sow.

Why We Made This Blog

It is a bit self-evident why we made this blog, but let us summarise it thusly – we were wrong to deny the undeniable truth that climate change is occurring, and it’s occurring because of us.

As we already mentioned, we only recently started believing the obvious truth. We know there are many others like our past selves, which is why we decided to make this blog. We want this to be a safe space for all, where nobody is accusing anybody of ignorance or worse.

You can find all sorts of articles on climate change here. We will try to cover some of the history of the movement, as well as recent news and helpful ways that could minimise our individual carbon footprints. We are open for suggestions, so if you think we should cover something, drop us a message!

We are here to learn and hopefully contribute to the betterment of our planet. This is our home and the home of our descendants, treat it accordingly.

Thank You
