SCIENCE TEAM TO START TO EXAMINE FIDDLED GLOBAL WARMING FIGURES

Posted 26 April 2015

"Careful analysts have come with hundreds of examples of how the original data recorded by 3,000-odd weather stations has been 'adjusted', to exaggerate the degree to which the Earth actually has been warming....So strong is the evidence that all this calls...have now brought a heavyweight response. The Global Warming Policy Foundation has enlisted an international team of five distinguished scientists to carry out a full inquiry into just how far these manipulations of the data may have distorted our picture of what is really happening to global temperatures."  Christopher Booker, writing in the Daily Telegraph, UK.

WALL STREET JOURNAL WRITER OFFERS 22 WAYS TO THINK ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE

Posted 23 April 2015

"The [climate] debate must go on, even as the atmosphere for dialogue gets increasingly polluted. The sacralization of climate is being used as a great loophole in the rule of law, an apology for bad science (and even worse economics), and an excuse to do anything and everything to have and keep power.  Those with reasoned agnosticism about the claims of the Climate Orthodoxy will find themselves in debate. This [Earth Day] I want to offer 22 ways to think about the climate-change debate. I hope these points will give those willing to question man-made climate change some aid and comfort."  Max Borders, writing in the Wall Street Journal.

MISSISSIPPI LAW PROFESSOR ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE 'SETTLED SCIENCE' BULLIES

Posted 22 April 2015

"The controversy over man-made global warming is far from settled. Despite claims that 'the science is all in' and 'there is no room for debate', the scientific method, with repeatable and falsifiable hypotheses, cannot really work when applied to the environment. Instead, scientists develop models - hyotheses, if you will - that set forth well-informed explanations of how various parts of the environment interrelate. Models are then evaluated to see how well their projections correlate with actual, measured data...The problem for [Al] Gore and others is that the models they use to justify legislative action are failing." Ronald J Rychlak, professor of law, at University of MIssissippi posts at WMD, a US independent news network.

NZ PROFESSOR FROM CAMBRIDGE POSES HUGE QUESTIONS ABOUT FUTURE ENERGY

Posted 15 April 2015

  • The poor everywhere are being impoverished by high costs of green energy

  • Delaying the development of Africa by denying cheap fossil fuels is immoral.

  • Climate change a distant distraction from more serious and imminent challenges to humanity: antibiotic resistance, financial collapse, water wars...

  • Many measures counter-productive – close aluminium smelters in UK and import from coal-based smelters in China – total madness in total CO2 terms.

  • Do we know we are preparing for the right global disaster?

Points made by expatriate Kiwi Professor Michael Kelly, of Cambridge University, in a challenging lecture on energy to the Institute of Professional Engineers of New Zealand (IPENZ)
