LORD MONCKTON'S TRENCHANT REBUTTAL OF OBAMA'S MISLEADING CLAIMS ABOUT CLIMATE

Posted 21 May 2015

"[President]  Obama's remarks at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy's Commencement May 20 demonstrate the extent to which his advisors are keeping him divotrced from the facts. The bulk of his speech was devoted to what is now becoming more and more obviously a non-problem: 'the challenge...that, perhaps more than any other, will shape your entire careers - and that's the urgent need to combat and adapt to climate change." In this post to WattsUpWithThat, Viscount Monckton of Brenchley comprehensively demolishes Mr Obama's assertions, point by factual point.

CLIMATE CHANGE 'CONSENSUS' AMONG THE MISINFORMED IS NOT WORTH MUCH

Posted 14 May 2015

"In the lead-up to the Paris climate summit, massive activist pressure is on all governments, especially Canada's, to fall in line with the global warmning agenda and accept emission targets that could seriously harm our economy. One of the most powerful rhetorical weapons being deployed is the claim that 97 per cent of the world's scientists agree what the problem is and what we have to do about it. In the face of such near-unanimity, it would be understandable if Prime Minister Harper and the Canadian government were simply to capitulate and throw Canada's economy under the climate change bandwagon. But it would be a tragedy because the 97 per cent claim is a fabrication."  Canadian economist Professor Ross McKitrick explains why in the Financial Post.

THE ICEMAN COMETH? COULD A QUIESCENT SUN PORTEND A NEW LITTLE ICE AGE?

Posted 13 May 2015

"President Obama, Al Gore and other alarmists continue to prophesy manmade global warming crises, brought on by our 'unsustainable' reliance on fossil fuels. Modelers like Mike Mann and Gavin Schmidt conjure up illusory crisis 'scenarios' based on the assumption that carbon dioxide emissions now drive climate change. A trillion-dollar Climate Crisis industry self-servingly echoes their claims. But what if these merchants of fear are wrong? What if the sun refuses to cooperate with the alarmists?" Question posed by Paul Driessen, senior policy analyst  for the Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow. (www.CFACT.org)

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HOLD THE KEYS TO OUR GLOBAL FUTURE

Posted 9 May 2015

"We need to get on with this thing we call life. The fact that we are here todayand that there are no clear-chicken-licken signs that the sky is falling is proof that, 'it is difficult to make predictions especially when they are about the future,' an insight attributed to many wise men."  Extract from an essay by Dr D C Edmeades ONZM, a New Zealand soil scientist, and fertiliser consultant, writing in the New Zealand Farmer about the failed predictions of Malthus, Erlich and the Club of Rome.
